Pool heater repair in Key West.

Gas heater or heat pump, when it will not fire or hold temperature, you want a technician who reads the fault instead of guessing at your most expensive piece of equipment. That is what we do.

When a pool heater needs a look

  • It will not ignite, or lights and immediately shuts off
  • It runs but never reaches the temperature you set
  • An error code on the display, or a blinking fault light
  • Short cycling: firing on and off every few minutes
  • Rust streaks, scale or water leaking around the unit
  • A heat pump that ices up or trips on low flow

Many of these trace back to something small, a dirty filter starving the heater of flow, a tired sensor, a fouled igniter. Caught early, they are inexpensive. Ignored, they take the heat exchanger with them.

Gas heaters and heat pumps, both handled

The two heat your pool in completely different ways and fail in different places. We repair both, and we are straight with you about which is worth keeping.

Gas heaters

Igniters, gas valves, pressure switches, flame sensors and control boards. Gas heats fast for spas and quick warm-ups, and most of what stops it is a repairable part rather than the whole unit.

Heat pumps

Low-flow faults, iced coils, fan and compressor issues, and the corrosion salt air drives on outdoor units. Efficient to run in our mild winters, which is why most Keys pools lean on them.

The Honest Line

Repair the part, not the whole heater, until it is truly done.

Sensors, switches, igniters and boards are worth fixing. The one part we watch closely is the heat exchanger: once salt air and off-balance water have eaten through it, patching it is throwing money at a lost cause.

When we reach that point, we will show you the failure and let you make the call. Balanced water and a clean filter are the cheapest heater insurance there is, and keeping yours that way is part of what we do on every service visit.

A heater is the most expensive thing on your pad to replace by mistake. We diagnose the fault before we ever quote the fix.

Pool heater repair questions

Why will my pool heater not turn on?

The most common causes are a failed igniter or gas valve on a gas heater, or a tripped high-limit and low-flow fault on a heat pump. Both often show an error code that tells us exactly where to look. We diagnose the specific fault instead of guessing, because a heater is one of the most expensive pieces on your pad to replace by mistake.

Gas heater or heat pump for a Key West pool?

Heat pumps suit the Keys well. Our winters are mild, and a heat pump sips electricity to pull warmth from the air, which is cheaper to run than gas over a season here. Gas heats faster for short bursts, so it still fits spas and rarely-used pools. We will tell you honestly which makes sense for how you actually use the water.

What do pool heater error codes mean?

Codes point to a specific fault: low water flow, high limit, ignition failure, pressure switch or sensor faults. They are a starting point, not the whole answer, because the same code can come from a dirty filter, a failing sensor or a real safety issue. We read the code, then confirm the actual cause before quoting anything.

Should I repair or replace a pool heater?

Igniters, sensors, pressure switches and control boards are worth repairing. The line we watch is the heat exchanger: once salt air and off-balance water have corroded it through, replacement is usually the honest call. We will show you what failed so the decision is yours, not a guess.

Do you service both residential and commercial pool heaters?
