About Us
The pool company that actually lives in Key West.
Since 2003, one team based on this island has kept the water clear for the resorts, rentals and homes that make Key West what it is.
Built here, based here, staying here
Keys Pool Service & Design started in 2003 with a simple idea that still runs the company: a pool at the bottom of the Keys should be cared for by people who are actually at the bottom of the Keys. Our office, our owners and our entire fleet are on the island, at 800 14th St in Key West. We are not a franchise, a call center or a contractor network dispatched from the mainland.
That is not a marketing line. It is the whole reason a problem here gets answered in hours instead of days, and it is why 23 years in, we still service around 90% of Key West's premier resorts.
What Guides Us
A hospitality business that happens to do pools
The pool is part of the experience
For a hotel or a rental, the pool is tied to the review and the repeat booking. We treat it that way. Guest-ready is a standard we can measure, not a vibe.
Reliability over size
We do not want to be the biggest company in the Keys. We want to be the one that shows up when it matters. Depth of service beats a bigger route map every time.
Transparency earns the next year
No contracts, no surprise line items, no locking you in. You know what is included before you sign. On an island this small, honest work is the only marketing that lasts.
Meet Kris
Kris will tell you something most pool companies would never put on their own website: not everyone who calls needs a service plan.
When someone has the time and the interest to care for their own pool, Kris would rather spend twenty minutes pointing them in the right direction than sign them up for something they do not need. He has talked more people out of service than he can count, and has not regretted one of them.
It is not bad business, either. On an island this small, the truth is the only marketing that lasts. The people Kris was straight with years ago are the ones who call now when it is time to resurface, add a heater or build the next pool. He would rather earn that than a busy invoice.
That is the whole company, really. Keys Pool Service treats pool care as a hospitality service, because down here a pool is tied to someone's home, their guests and their peace of mind. The team answers fast because waiting is the expensive option, and tells you the truth even when it costs the sale, because it is the only thing that actually works.
One last thing anyone who knows Kris will tell you: bring him a genuinely hard problem, the kind everyone else has failed to solve, and you will probably walk away with a free solution and all his attention. He cannot help himself. Whether that is ego or research is a debate the office has learned not to start, and either way it tends to work out better for the homeowner than for the billable-hours column.

No Contracts, No Games
Why we will never ask you to sign a contract.
Something is happening to pool service across the country, and it has reached the Keys. Large out-of-state companies, backed by private equity, are buying up local pool routes the way Uber bought up rides. They absorb the small operators, push the work onto independent contractors, and turn your weekly service into a line item managed from somewhere far from your backyard.
Watch how it starts. First comes the contract. There are really only two reasons a pool company needs one. The first is to prove recurring revenue on paper, so it can sell your route, and you along with it, to a buyer you never agreed to let touch your pool. The second is to take away your choice, so that when the service slips, leaving costs you a penalty instead of a phone call.
We do neither. Keys Pool Service has no contracts. Do not like our logo? Find our humor less funny than we do? Simply change your mind? You can walk any day of the week, with no early-termination fee like the internet company this island loves to hate. We keep customers the only honest way there is: by doing a good enough job that you never have a reason to leave.
